After trying, unsuccessfully, to book accommodation through the web site, l rang the office direct. The young lady I spoke to said she would call me back but I did not hear from her again. I then went back to the web site and managed to book alternative accommodation, for which I received a confirmation email, only to be contacted by telephone six hours later to be informed that the hotel was double booked! All in all a very shabby and unprofessional service we will not be using again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with the Feefo community and thus allowing us the opportunity to respond.

Having looked into your booking history and having spoken to several of my colleagues involved (including Shammika, the lady that you spoke to), it appears that there was a problem with the availability for the hotel when you initially attempted to book (to do with the hotel showing availability for certain room types that were not subsequently available).

After you spoke to Shammika, she looked into the problem as well as other options on your behalf unaware of the urgency of your booking or the fact that you had decided to try and book again.

I do appreciate your frustration of course, however, as far as I can see, there was no wrongdoing from our side and I can only therefore apologise that your experience on this occasion was not a positive one.

I do hope that we may yet be able to be of assistance to you again in future despite your disappointment on this occasion.

Thank you for your reply. I have to stress that whilst it is always nice to receive positive reviews, this is not our sole aim. As with any company, we want to strive for continuous improvement and this can only be done by listening to our customers and addressing any areas that need improvement.

In this case, I felt that it was very reasonable to present our side of the story. Clearly this case was not all one-sided or the result of unprofessional or negligent behaviour. As with all such feedback we will of course learn from this. In this instance, the lesson has to be about communication i.e. we will instruct our agents to ask customers not to attempt to rebook whilst we are still looking into any problems with the system.

I do also appreciate that we can not please everyone all of the time. Our customers are our biggest strength and without goodwill and understanding from them, we would soon find ourselves out of business. I understand your disappointment but I would just like to finish by saying that we would very much welcome the opportunity to be of service to you again and to restore your faith in our company and the way that we operate.
